RE: [atlarge-discuss] 263 and mailing list rules

Richard,
To take your last question first:-
> What do the Members want this panel to achieve, and during what
> time period?>

What I want them to do is stop inventing things as if this is a new
organization. The At Large movement is coming up for it's 4th birthday, not
a new born anyway, and this Panel may have a great future if it will put
aside pride of authorship and focus on some serious archive research, to
pull out all the great work by people with far more expertise in their
little finger than the entire membership has in their whole body. All the
problems have been raised before, all the arguments have been made, and all
the answers are there in the archives. The Panel just needs to make up a
short list of the strongest contenders, then decide on which of the existing
solutions best suit the current climate and put them before the membership
for a vote. This is work that ICANN went to a great deal of trouble to bury,
because it was a solution for At Large, and they never wanted one. That's
the work you need to find.

The only thing that has never been solved to my knowledge is ID verification
of the membership. That's the last, and most important piece in the puzzle.
Solve that, and everything else is just a matter of collecting, then
selecting.

To answer the rest of your questions. No thanks, I have all those T shirts
already.

Joanna
