Dear Andreas,
your email encourages me to give a short answer.
Most At-Large-members probably dont know, which aims ICANN exactly has and
which influence the elected members of the board - only two of seven !!-
will have.
This is no good foundation for the election, I think.
What´s my point of view: We must beware liberal rights on the internet. The
necessary regulations concerning e.g. the granting of domains, the common
technical standard on the internet, safeguarding of copyrights, and the
observance of democratic basic rights must be governed by the principle of
justice. E.g. I stand for equal rights of all ICANN members and continents
and states in obtaining and granting internet rights.
I believe, that I can do some in this field as a lawyer, who has much
experience in administrative work.
As an elected member of the board I will stand with priority for the
creation of a top-level-domain "eu" for Europe.
I think, this would be the right policy in the interest of all users in
europe.
Best regards
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

P.S.: Warum können wir nicht auch in deutsch miteinander kommunizieren? Die
rd. 20.000 deutschen At-Large-Mitglieder würden vielleicht noch mit mehr
Interesse mitmachen.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Christian Schultz

Dear Constantine:
The only people you could ask to sponsor you
are the At-Large-Members, your voters.
Whether you are honest or not, is not the point.
It is cruel, but: "Whoever pays the music, calls the tune" is more real.
That is why most participants here don't want somebody from within internet
industry.
They all claim more or less to act and vote in "everybody's best interest".
And I do not want to se the advertising:
"Buy XY, we are sponsoring the ICANN elected board member Mr./Ms. ABC".
Just imagine what this will say about the election and ICANN.
There are enough members lobbying for this and that.
We need somebody representing users.
