Because the press release you forwarded is a plain lie, and everybody
who cares is able to check that. To sum it up:

- Andys homepage is http://www.datenreisen.de
- This page is accessible with lynx
- blind people use lynx for browsing (I checked that)

So the statement that Andys home page is inaccessible to blind users
is a lie.

But the wording in the press release gives us hints that the author
talks about the CCC homepage.

Facts about the CCC homepage

- The CCC homepage can be found at https://www.ccc.de
- If you try to access http://www.ccc.de, you get redirected to the https page
- This was what the "security measures" were referring to
- The page analyzes the Agent, and provides the pages over http for browsers
that don't support https, such as lynx
- a lynx SSL patch is available

So the statement that the CCC homepage is inaccessible to blind users
is a lie as well. Everybody can check that in a minute.

You forwarded the press release, and tried to give Andy a bad name,
without checking the facts.

Because he gained a lot of experience during his work in representing
the CCC. And as a member of the CCC I am confident that he's a good
candidate for ICANN, because he did his job well.

That's no excuse for confusing the two.
