The flaw in this sentence is that this was not meant to be a
competition to see which country gets the biggest number of members.
And this is just a consequence of a biggest flaw in ICANN's reasoning
- thinking that a single person can represent the whole Europe without
some intermediate structure is simply foolish.
So, in the end, you can think what you want about all European
countries, but I'm sure that local Internet communities in France, UK,
Italy or Spain, just to name a few, won't be so keen to accept ICANN
if they feel that they do not have a voice in it. Ensuring a steady
and democratic communication without all countries, and really
representing the opinions of the whole continent, should be a primary
concern for the elected Director.
